Message	CA state law states that nothing from the driver and forward can have any sort of "stickers" within the outward view. Outward view is the driver's side window, the passenger's side window, and 8" from the top of the windshield and down. So, legally, anything from the driver back can be tinted. You can even board up all the windows behind the driver as long as you have a passenger's side mirror along with the driver's side mirror.
